Zhang Zhongqiu meets CVO of UK

State Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO) Zhang Zhongqiu met with Nigel Gibbens, the visiting CVO of Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs of the United Kingdom, and his delegation in Beijing on September 7, 2015. The two sides exchanged views on further enhancing China-UK cooperation on animal health.
Zhang pointed out that currently the priority of bilateral collaboration is to build a stable cooperation mechanism. He proposed that the two sides should set up a subcommittee or working group on animal health under the China-UK Joint Committee on Agricultural Cooperation, as a regular mechanism for animal health exchanges and cooperation. Under the framework China and the UK could discuss cooperation of animal health, the use of antibiotics, and so on. Mr. Gibbens totally agreed with Zhang's proposal.
Other senior officials from Department of Livestock Production and Veterinary Bureau of MOA attended the meeting.
